Winkler is concerned with communication on an emotional level.  She involves  the viewer with the use of vivid color further intensifying the expressive quality of the work.  A sense of spontaneity and movement is a result of the loose, sometimes aggressive brush work.  The result is a skillful blending of nature and abstraction.
